The reconstruction of the alleys on the Square of Freedom was necessary due to ill health of the trees. The revitalization also included part of the greener surfaces on the square itself – planting of perennials.
The new planting of the alley was done in the original planting holes and strips into a special substrate with a possibility of irrigation.
When choosing the appropriate species, the fact that there are trolleybus powerlines had to be considered to prevent the tree branches from endangering the powerlines.
The golden rain tree (Koeleuteria paniculata) was chosen for the replacement, which has already been planted in some parts of the alley. Together, 53 trees were planted on site and flowering perennials of smaller and larger periwinkles were planted to create rich green bedding.
